Burlington Library Association

A LeapPad  is an interactive device that allows a child to read and listen to a book at the same time via a cartridge that comes with each book.  Either a speaker or a headphone can be used.  The child practices hearing the words and repeating them.  It is intended to supplement the regular education process for teachers and parents.  The library owns six of these new electronic reading machines along with a set of 12 LeapPad books.  Four Pads are available for circulation while two are to be used in the library.  The system features mostly phonics, but a cartridge on math skills is also available.

We hope to acquire more of these books based on demand.  We believe that Burlington is the first library in the greater Hartford County system to offer these modern education aids.
